    Dean Yocum

    Dean Yocum is an Attorney at The Harris Law Firm, where he helps Colorado families get through even the messiest and most contentious divorces. In the past, he worked with youth in detention centers and as a youth pastor who would support and console children who were struggling due to the challenges caused by living in a “broken” home. He is also a divorced parent himself. All these experiences eventually inspired him to become a family law attorney who also handles cases involving real estate law, tenant-landlord law, estate planning, and immigration law.

    The Yocum family has been in Colorado for many generations, including when ranches first started appearing on the Western Slope. For this reason, Dean feels closely connected to communities throughout the state, which inspires him to go above and beyond for every client he represents today. When he works on a case, he truly takes it to heart because he knows that he might be the only one who can help a family find a more comfortable future while also protecting their valuable land and assets.

    At Regis University in Denver, Colorado, Dean earned his MBA. After he decided to become a family lawyer, he completed his J.D. at Mitchell Hamline Law School in St. Paul, Minnesota. In law school, he was in the top third of his class and made the Class Dean’s List every semester. He also wrote a short paper for Homeless Youth Obtaining Self-Sufficiency and earned recognition from the Cali Awards for Family Law.

    When he can, Attorney Yocum volunteers with Solid Rock Youth Legal Ministries and Metro Volunteers. He is the former President of the Executive Board of Directors for Metro Brokers, Inc. Dean is also a member of the Colorado Bar Association and the Colorado Association of REALTORS.

    For fun, Dean mostly likes to spend time with his children. Specifically, he likes to spectate his daughter’s sports activities, including gymnastics, pole vaulting, and competitive diving, and he volunteers to be a passenger while his son accumulates his piloting hours.
