    Erika Brotzman

    Erika Brotzman is a divorce and family law attorney at The Harris Law Firm in Colorado. Before joining the firm, she worked for a large firm with nearly 300 attorneys that handled a variety of complex, high-stakes family law and divorce cases. In that role, she handled hundreds of trials and contested hearings, was awarded the “Top Regional Attorney” three times and was named the “Second Best Attorney” in 2022. Today, her experience and skills are instrumental in guiding our clients through difficult cases.

    Attorney Brotzman understands the emotional impact on her clients during what can be the most stressful experience of their lives. She is compassionate and takes time to carefully listen to clients to understand their goals. As such, she is passionate about finding success for her clients and is dedicated to her clients' needs. Attorney Brotzman explains the legal process and options available based on the facts, the law, and their goals allowing clients to feel comfortable that they are making informed decisions about their future.

    Erika encourages collaboration and encourages clients to reach resolutions without court intervention with the understanding that clients can sacrifice control over the outcomes of life changing issues when the court must make decisions from a distant position. However, when litigation is the only option, Attorney Brotzman is an accomplished litigator and she is always ready to step into the courtroom on behalf of her client.

    During her studies at the University of Colorado School of Law, where she completed her Juris Doctorate, Erika was a judicial intern for the Hon. Judge Jerry Jones in the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Hon. Ann B. Frick 2nd Judicial District, as well as a legal intern at the Colorado Attorney General's Office in the Natural Resources Section. She was also a student attorney at the Getches-Green Natural Resources Legal Clinic and was an associate editor for the Colorado Natural Resources, Energy & Environmental Law Review.

    Shortly after completing her J.D., Attorney Brotzman was admitted to the Colorado State Bar and started her own family law practice. She used her analytical mind, ability to negotiate, and competitive nature to uphold her clients’ best interests in various family law and divorce cases as she ran her practice. After years of litigating hundreds of trials in counties throughout Colorado, Erika now provides exceptional service for her clients with The Harris Law Firm.

    Erika was raised in Los Angeles, California, but has been a proud Colorado resident since the mid-90s. She loves to stay active, has been a snowboard instructor in Montana, and is an internationally recognized professional cyclist.

    Some of Erika’s most notable accomplishments and accolades as a professional cyclist are:

    • Ranked “2nd Top Female American Professional Cyclist” (2003).
    • T-Mobile USA National Team member (2004)
    • Raced in Giro d’Italia (‘02, ‘03, ‘05); World Cups/Tours in Canada (‘05); Australia (‘04, ‘05); New Zealand (‘05).
    • Won 44 professional victories and many podium appearances, including the National Championships (‘03, ‘04, ‘05).
    • Multiple victories were broadcast on Outdoor Life Network (now known as NBC Sports Network).

    Outside of practicing law, she is dedicated to her family, her partner and their three senior cats. She lives life to its fullest by enjoying the outdoors including snowboarding in the winter and camping and packrafting in the summer.
